Welcome to Risk Management

In all sincerity, welcome.
Personally, I hope that you are already familiar with operational risk management (‘ORM’) but if that’s not the case, here’s what we’re talking about in a nutshell.

Operational risk management is a process designed to help you foresee possible threats to life, health and property damage or loss and judge the right response.

ORM is utilized by the United States Military and many other organizations in their missions and you, your family and your church or business can utilize the same principles to plan against potential threats in an effective, orderly, and efficient manner that, if performed correctly and applied, can prevent or at least mitigate events that might otherwise cause harm and loss.

If you want to get started right away, the Operational Risk Management guide used by the Civil Air Patrol can be found readily online in PDF format and can give you thorough instructions on how to perform the entire process. If you aren’t ready to swallow that many new terms and acronyms all at once, check in here from time to time. We will be presenting a simplified version of the ORM process for use by everyone along with further exploration of key points that the technical guides do not cover sufficiently, such as, where to find expert advice on the potential for the occurrence of a threat and how to gauge the severity of a threat without succumbing to natural human bias.

For now, you can start by making a list of things that might hurt you in some way such as sickness, fire, natural disasters and theft. Go do a little research and try to be thorough.

Remember; the purpose of looking at what can hurt us is to discover how to defeat it, not how much you should be frightened of it.
If you find yourself overwhelmed by the thought of all this potential evil, stop, and take time to ask the Almighty God to give you peace. Whether or not you believe in a loving God, He believes in you and wants to help you, which is why we’re here, helping you do this.

When we return next time we will introduce the primary ORM cycle and it’s importance in common terms.

Hello World!

Welcome to Pilgrimmage Projects’ website!
This is our first news posting in the new system.
Please excuse the dust, much of the site is still in development.
I wish I could say that I’m amazingly excited about this new site format but the truth is, I’m less ‘excited’ and more ‘relieved’ – that it’s finally operational.

Anyway, welcome to the new site format!
Check back once or twice a week. The old content still has to be ported over and then I’ll try to work out some schedules for new content to be added.
Of course, this set of changes isn’t the only thing afoot – I’m also working on relocating to a new city where I hope to finally establish a permanent base of operations. more on that as it develops.

Thanks for visiting. I’ll check in again soon.
